Dominant groups
Analysis of the unpaid child care provided by the female population in The Hills Shire in 2021 compared to National Growth Areas Alliance (NGAA) shows that there was a similar proportion of females who provided unpaid child care either to their own or to other children. Overall, 34.3% of the female population provided unpaid child care, compared with 34.0% for National Growth Areas Alliance (NGAA).
The major differences between the share of the female population providing unpaid child care in The Hills Shire and National Growth Areas Alliance (NGAA) were:
- A larger percentage who provided unpaid childcare for own child/ren (28.3% compared to 25.7%)
- A larger percentage who did not provide care for children (62.7% compared to 60.4%)
