Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Growth LGAs in Queensland in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Technicians and Trades Workers (70,721 males or 25.0%)
- Machinery Operators And Drivers (41,822 males or 14.8%)
- Labourers (39,002 males or 13.8%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 151,545 males in total or 53.5% of the employed male resident population.
In comparison, National Growth Areas Alliance (NGAA) employed 23.7% in Technicians and Trades Workers; 15.4% in Machinery Operators And Drivers; and 12.2% in Labourers.
The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Growth LGAs in Queensland and National Growth Areas Alliance (NGAA) were:
- A larger percentage of males employed as Labourers (13.8% compared to 12.2%)
- A larger percentage of males employed as Technicians and Trades Workers (25.0% compared to 23.7%)
- A smaller percentage of males employed as Professionals (12.8% compared to 14.9%)
Emerging groups
The number of employed males in Growth LGAs in Queensland increased by 33,526 between 2016 and 2021.
The largest changes in the occupations of male residents between 2016 and 2021 in Growth LGAs in Queensland were for those employed as:
- Professionals (+6,568 males)
- Technicians and Trades Workers (+6,353 males)
- Machinery Operators And Drivers (+5,056 males)
- Managers (+5,009 males)
