Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Growth LGAs in Victoria in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (74,053 females or 23.6%)
  • Education and Training (37,544 females or 12.0%)
  • Retail Trade (37,455 females or 11.9%)

In combination, these three industries employed 149,052 females in total or 47.5% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, National Growth Areas Alliance (NGAA) employed 23.9% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 12.5% in Education and Training; and 11.8% in Retail Trade.

There were no major differences between Growth LGAs in Victoria and National Growth Areas Alliance (NGAA) in 2021.
