Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Moreton Bay Region in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (28,505 females or 26.3%)
  • Education and Training (13,691 females or 12.6%)
  • Retail Trade (12,588 females or 11.6%)

In combination, these three industries employed 54,784 females in total or 50.5% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, National Growth Areas Alliance (NGAA) employed 23.9% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 12.5% in Education and Training; and 11.8% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Moreton Bay Region and National Growth Areas Alliance (NGAA) were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (26.3% compared to 23.9%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in manufacturing (3.2% compared to 4.6%)
