Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Shire of Cardinia in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (6,627 females or 23.8%)
  • Education and Training (3,736 females or 13.4%)
  • Retail Trade (3,274 females or 11.8%)

In combination, these three industries employed 13,637 females in total or 49.0% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, National Growth Areas Alliance (NGAA) employed 23.9% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 12.5% in Education and Training; and 11.8% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of the Shire of Cardinia and National Growth Areas Alliance (NGAA) were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (1.9% compared to 0.7%)
