Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in City of Mandurah in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (4,881 people or 13.5%)
  • Mining (3,935 people or 10.9%)
  • Retail Trade (3,860 people or 10.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 12,676 people in total or 35.1% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, National Growth Areas Alliance (NGAA) employed 14.0% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 1.7% in Mining; and 9.9% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of the City of Mandurah and National Growth Areas Alliance (NGAA) were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in mining (10.9% compared to 1.7%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons employed in transport, postal and warehousing (3.5% compared to 6.7%)
