Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in City of Hume in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (12,860 people or 12.5%)
  • Construction (11,932 people or 11.6%)
  • Transport, Postal and Warehousing (10,005 people or 9.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 34,797 people in total or 33.8% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, National Growth Areas Alliance (NGAA) employed 14.0% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 10.4% in Construction; and 6.7% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of the City of Hume and National Growth Areas Alliance (NGAA) were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in transport, postal and warehousing (9.7% compared to 6.7%)
