Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in City of Armadale in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (5,237 females or 25.1%)
  • Education and Training (2,708 females or 13.0%)
  • Retail Trade (2,480 females or 11.9%)

In combination, these three industries employed 10,425 females in total or 50.0% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Growth LGAs in NSW employed 22.9% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 12.8% in Education and Training; and 11.2% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of the City of Armadale and Growth LGAs in NSW were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in mining (2.5% compared to 0.1%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (25.1% compared to 22.9%)
