Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Camden Council in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (7,655 people or 12.9%)
- Construction (7,607 people or 12.8%)
- Education and Training (5,853 people or 9.8%)
In combination, these three industries employed 21,115 people in total or 35.5% of the total employed resident population.
In comparison, Greater Perth employed 14.1% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 8.9% in Construction; and 8.8% in Education and Training.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Camden Council and Greater Perth were:
- A larger percentage of persons employed in construction (12.8% compared to 8.9%)
- A larger percentage of persons employed in transport, postal and warehousing (6.8% compared to 4.5%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed in mining (0.3% compared to 6.6%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed in professional, scientific and technical services (5.2% compared to 7.8%)

- Construction (+4,765 persons)
- Education and Training (+3,190 persons)
- Retail Trade (+2,652 persons)
