Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in Growth LGAs in Queensland in 2021 compared to the City of Whittlesea shows that there was a lower proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 32.0% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 13.6% were one-parent families, compared with 41.2% and 12.6% respectively for the City of Whittlesea .

There were a higher proportion of lone person households and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 20.5% compared to 17.5% in the City of Whittlesea while the proportion of couples without children was 25.4% compared to 21.3% in the City of Whittlesea .
