Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in Growth LGAs in NSW in 2021 compared to Blacktown City shows that there was a lower proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a similar proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 43.3% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 12.8% were one-parent families, compared with 45.1% and 12.8% respectively for Blacktown City .

There were a higher proportion of lone person households and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 16.2% compared to 15.1% in Blacktown City while the proportion of couples without children was 20.2% compared to 18.3% in Blacktown City .
