Dominant groups

Analysis of the families with children in Growth LGAs in Victoria in 2021 compared to the Shire of Serpentine-Jarrahdale shows that there was a similar proportion of couples with young children, and a larger proportion of couples with older children.

Overall, 25.6% of total households with children were couple with young children, and 11.7% were couples with older children, compared with 25.9% and 10.6% respectively for the Shire of Serpentine-Jarrahdale .

There were a smaller proportion of single parent households with young children and a larger proportion of single parent households with older children. Overall, the proportion of single parent households with young children was 4.3% compared to 5.2% in the Shire of Serpentine-Jarrahdale while the proportion of single parent households with older children was 6.2% compared to 3.9% in the Shire of Serpentine-Jarrahdale .
