Dominant groups

In 2021, there were 346,756 separate houses in the area, 40,424 medium density dwellings, and 6,008 high density dwellings.

Analysis of the types of dwellings in Growth LGAs in WA in 2021 shows that 87.5% of all dwellings were separate houses; 10.2% were medium density dwellings, and 1.5% were in high density dwellings, compared with 84.3%, 12.5%, and 2.7% in the National Growth Areas Alliance (NGAA) respectively.

In 2021, a total of 92.3% of the dwellings in Growth LGAs in WA were occupied on Census night, compared to 94.2% in National Growth Areas Alliance (NGAA). The proportion of unoccupied dwellings was 7.6%, which is larger compared to that found in National Growth Areas Alliance (NGAA) (5.7%).
