In 2021, there were 149,684 separate houses in the area, 31,520 medium density dwellings, and 4,836 high density dwellings.
Analysis of the types of dwellings in Moreton Bay Region in 2021 shows that 79.5% of all dwellings were separate houses; 16.7% were medium density dwellings, and 2.6% were in high density dwellings, compared with 82.6%, 15.1%, and 1.6% in the Growth LGAs in Queensland respectively.
In 2021, a total of 94.5% of the dwellings in Moreton Bay Region were occupied on Census night, compared to 94.3% in Growth LGAs in Queensland. The proportion of unoccupied dwellings was 5.4%, which is smaller compared to that found in Growth LGAs in Queensland (5.6%).
