Growth LGAs in WA's disability statistics relate directly to need for assistance due to a severe or profound disability. Dominant groups
Analysis of the need for assistance of males in the National Growth Areas Alliance compared to the City of Wanneroo shows that there was a similar proportion of males who reported needing assistance with core activities.
Overall, 4.7% of the male population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 4.2% for the City of Wanneroo .
The major differences in the male age groups reporting a need for assistance in Growth LGAs in WA and the City of Wanneroo were:
- A larger percentage of males aged 80 to 84 (22.6% compared to 20.6%)
- A larger percentage of males aged 75 to 79 (15.1% compared to 14.1%)
Emerging groups
The major differences in the male age groups reporting a need for assistance between 2016 and 2021 in Growth LGAs in WA were in the age groups:
- 10 to 19 (+1,275 males)
- 20 to 59 (+1,267 males)
- 5 to 9 (+802 males)
