Dominant groups

Analysis of the need for assistance of people in the National Growth Areas Alliance compared to the City of Wanneroo shows that there was a similar proportion of people who reported needing assistance with core activities.

Overall, 4.8% of the population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 4.4% for the City of Wanneroo .

The major difference in the age groups reporting a need for assistance in Growth LGAs in WA and the City of Wanneroo is:

  • A smaller percentage of persons aged 85 and over (45.5% compared to 49.3%)

Emerging groups

The major differences in the age groups reporting a need for assistance between 2006 and 2021 in Growth LGAs in WA were in the age groups:

  • 20 to 59 (+6,233 persons)
  • 10 to 19 (+3,571 persons)
  • 85 and over (+3,498 persons)
  • 70 to 74 (+2,627 persons)
