Overall, 5.8% of the male population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 5.6% for Greater Brisbane.
The major differences in the male age groups reporting a need for assistance in the City of Whittlesea and Greater Brisbane were:

- A larger percentage of males aged 80 to 84 (34.7% compared to 25.7%)
