Dominant groups

Analysis of the need for assistance of males in the National Growth Areas Alliance compared to Greater Brisbane shows that there was a similar proportion of males who reported needing assistance with core activities.

Overall, 5.8% of the male population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 5.6% for Greater Brisbane.

The major differences in the male age groups reporting a need for assistance in the City of Whittlesea and Greater Brisbane were:

  • A larger percentage of males aged 85 and over (53.6% compared to 44.2%)
  • A larger percentage of males aged 80 to 84 (34.7% compared to 25.7%)
  • A larger percentage of males aged 75 to 79 (23.6% compared to 17.4%)
  • A larger percentage of males aged 70 to 74 (16.4% compared to 12.5%)

Emerging groups
