Dominant groups
Analysis of the need for assistance of females in Liverpool City Council compared to Greater Sydney shows that there was a higher proportion of females who reported needing assistance with core activities.
Overall, 6.9% of the female population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 5.6% for Greater Sydney.
The major differences in the female age groups reporting a need for assistance in Liverpool LGA and Greater Sydney were:
- A larger percentage of females aged 75 to 79 (33.0% compared to 20.1%)
- A larger percentage of females aged 80 to 84 (44.5% compared to 33.5%)
- A larger percentage of females aged 70 to 74 (23.8% compared to 13.0%)
- A larger percentage of females aged 65 to 69 (18.5% compared to 9.4%)
Emerging groups
The major differences in the female age groups reporting a need for assistance between 2016 and 2021 in Liverpool LGA were in the age groups:
- 70 to 74 (+253 females)
