Name origin

Sadleir is named after Richard Sadleir, the first Mayor of Liverpool.

Settlement history

Development of the area dates primarily from the 1960s, as part of the Green Valley public housing area. The population declined slightly between 1991 and 2006, and then increased by a similar amount between 2006 and 2011 as new dwellings were added to the area.
