Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the Hindi speaking resident population in City of Knox in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Professionals (367 people or 38.7%)
- Managers (171 people or 18.0%)
- Clerical and Administrative Workers (120 people or 12.7%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 658 people in total or 69.4% of the employed resident population.
In comparison, Greater Melbourne employed 34.5% in Professionals; 13.7% in Managers; and 12.7% in Clerical and Administrative Workers.
The major differences between the jobs held by the Hindi speaking population of the City of Knox and Greater Melbourne were:
- A larger percentage of people employed as Managers (18.0% compared to 13.7%)
- A larger percentage of people employed as Professionals (38.7% compared to 34.5%)
- A smaller percentage of people employed as Machinery Operators And Drivers (2.6% compared to 6.7%)
- A smaller percentage of people employed as Technicians and Trades Workers (6.1% compared to 7.8%)

The number of employed Hindi speakers in City of Knox increased by 137 between 2016 and 2021.
