The size of the City of Knox's labour force in 2011 was 81,312, of which 26,501 were employed part-time and 49,449 were full time workers.

Analysis of the employment status (as a percentage of the labour force) in the City of Knox in 2011 compared to Greater Melbourne shows that there was a higher proportion in employment, and a lower proportion unemployed.
