Dominant groups
Analysis of the household/family types of Gujarati speakers in the City of Knox in 2021 compared to Victoria shows that there was a higher proportion of Gujarati speakers in couple families with child(ren) as well as a similar proportion in one-parent families. Overall, 90.4% of Gujarati speakers were in couple families with child(ren), and 1.4% were one-parent families, compared with 75.5% and 1.9% respectively for Victoria.
There were a lower proportion of Gujarati speakers in lone person households and a lower proportion in couples without children.
