Dominant groups
Analysis of the car ownership of Persian/Dari speakers in the City of Knox in 2021 compared to Greater Melbourne shows that 96.8% were in households that owned at least one car, while 1.6% did not, compared with 94.1% and 4.1% respectively in Greater Melbourne.
Of those that owned at least one vehicle, there was a smaller proportion owned just one car; a larger proportion owned two cars; and a larger proportion that owned three cars or more.
Overall, 22.6% of Persian/Dari speakers were in households that owned one car; 47.8% owned two cars; and 26.4% owned three cars or more, compared with 28.3%, 41.4% and 24.4% respectively for Greater Melbourne.

The largest changes in the household car ownership for Persian/Dari speakers in the City of Knox between 2016 and 2021 were:
