Dominant groups

Analysis of the country of birth of the non-English speaking population in the City of Knox in 2021 compared to the total population in the City of Knox shows that there was a larger proportion of people born overseas.

Overall, 75.3% of the non-English speaking population was born overseas, compared with 33.0% for the total population in the City of Knox.

The major differences between the countries of birth of the non-English speaking population in the City of Knox and the total population in the City of Knox were:

  • A larger percentage of people born in China (excludes SARs and Taiwan) (18.1% compared to 5.3%)
  • A larger percentage of people born in India (9.0% compared to 3.2%)
  • A larger percentage of people born in Sri Lanka (6.2% compared to 2.4%)
