Dominant groups
Analysis of the Persian/Dari speaking population in the City of Knox in 2021 compared to Australia shows that there was a similar proportion of people in the younger age groups (under 15) and a higher proportion of people in the older age groups (65+).
Overall, 19.2% of the Persian/Dari speaking population was aged between 0 and 14, and 7.2% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 19.4% and 6.2% respectively for Australia.
The major differences between the age groups of the Persian/Dari speaking population in the City of Knox and Australia were:
- A larger percentage of people aged 60 to 64 (5.0% compared to 3.2%)
- A larger percentage of people aged 40 to 44 (13.2% compared to 11.9%)

- 30 to 34 (+78 persons)
- 0 to 4 (+72 persons)
