Analysis of the household/family types in The Basin in 2021 compared to the City of Knox shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a similar proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 37.6% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 10.8% were one-parent families, compared with 37.1% and 11.2% respectively for the City of Knox.
There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 18.6% compared to 20.7% in the City of Knox while the proportion of couples without children was 27.0% compared to 25.0% in the City of Knox.
