Wantirna's employment statistics are an important indicator of socio-economic status. Dominant groups
The size of Wantirna's female labour force in 2021 was 3,370, of which 1,557 were employed part-time and 1,437 were full time workers.
Analysis of the female employment status (as a percentage of the labour force) in Wantirna in 2021 compared to the City of Knox shows that there was a lower proportion in employment, and a higher proportion unemployed. Overall, 95.2% of the female labour force was employed, and 4.8% unemployed, compared with 95.7% and 4.3% respectively for the City of Knox.
Analysis of the labour force participation rate of the female population in Wantirna in 2021 shows that there was a lower proportion in the labour force (55.9%) compared with the City of Knox (60.5%).
Emerging groups
Between 2006 and 2021, the number of females employed in Wantirna showed a decrease of 393, and the number unemployed showed an increase of 13. In the same period, the number of females in the labour force showed a decrease of 380 or 10.1%.
