Dominant groups
Analysis of the unpaid child care provided by people aged 25 to 34 years in the City of Knox in 2021 compared to Greater Melbourne shows that there was a higher proportion of people who provided unpaid child care either to their own or to other children. Overall, 28.7% of the population aged 25 to 34 years provided unpaid child care, compared with 24.2% for Greater Melbourne.
The major differences between the share of people aged 25 to 34 years providing unpaid child care in the City of Knox and Greater Melbourne were:
