Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Rural West in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Clerical and Administrative Workers (169 females or 23.6%)
  • Professionals (124 females or 17.3%)
  • Community and Personal Service Workers (104 females or 14.5%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 397 females in total or 55.4% of the employed female resident population.

In comparison, Rockhampton employed 20.8% in Clerical and Administrative Workers; 21.6% in Professionals; and 21.0% in Community and Personal Service Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Rural West and Rockhampton were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed as Managers (14.4% compared to 7.8%)
