Five year age groups

In 2021, the largest age group in Rockhampton was 10 to 14 year olds. The group that changed the most since 2006 was 60 to 64 year olds, increasing by 850 people.

Dominant groups

Analysis of the female five year age groups of Rockhampton in 2021 compared to Frenchville shows that there was a similar proportion of females in the younger age groups (under 15) and a lower proportion of females in the older age groups (65+).

Overall, 19.6% of the female population was aged between 0 and 15, and 17.7% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 19.2% and 18.4% respectively for Frenchville.

The major differences between the female age structure of Rockhampton and Frenchville were:

  • A larger percentage of females aged 10 to 14 (7.1% compared to 6.4%)
  • A larger percentage of females aged 15 to 19 (6.2% compared to 5.6%)
  • A smaller percentage of females aged 25 to 29 (6.9% compared to 7.4%)
