Dominant groups
Analysis of the family blending in Wandal and West Rockhampton in 2021 compared to Berserker and The Common shows that there was a lower proportion of step families as well as a lower proportion of blended families. Overall, 16.3% of total couple families with children were step families, and 4.8% were blended families, compared with 19.1% and 8.3% respectively for Berserker and The Common.
There were a lower proportion of other families and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of other families was 0.5% compared to 2.6% in Berserker and The Common while the proportion of intact families was 78.4% compared to 69.9% in Berserker and The Common.
