Dominant groups
Analysis of the need for assistance of people in Rockhampton Regional Council compared to Rockhampton shows that there was a lower proportion of people who reported needing assistance with core activities.
Overall, 6.7% of the population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 7.5% for Rockhampton.
The major differences in the age groups reporting a need for assistance in Gracemere and Rockhampton were:
- A larger percentage of persons aged 75 to 79 (27.3% compared to 20.5%)
- A larger percentage of persons aged 5 to 9 (10.1% compared to 7.3%)
- A larger percentage of persons aged 80 to 84 (34.8% compared to 33.0%)
- A larger percentage of persons aged 10 to 19 (7.4% compared to 6.2%)
Emerging groups
The major differences in the age groups reporting a need for assistance between 2011 and 2021 in Gracemere were in the age groups:
- 20 to 59 (+128 persons)
- 10 to 19 (+103 persons)
- 5 to 9 (+85 persons)
