Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Liverpool LGA in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (9,697 females or 22.9%)
  • Education and Training (5,455 females or 12.9%)
  • Retail Trade (4,657 females or 11.0%)

In combination, these three industries employed 19,809 females in total or 46.8% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Austral employed 24.7% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 12.5% in Education and Training; and 10.3% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Liverpool LGA and Austral were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in accommodation and food services (5.5% compared to 3.6%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in manufacturing (5.5% compared to 3.7%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in construction (2.8% compared to 4.6%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (22.9% compared to 24.7%)
