Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Green Valley in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Manufacturing (360 males or 14.3%)
  • Construction (316 males or 12.6%)
  • Retail Trade (297 males or 11.8%)

In combination, these three industries employed 973 males in total or 38.8% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Austral employed 9.0% in Manufacturing; 17.3% in Construction; and 8.1% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Green Valley and Austral were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in manufacturing (14.3% compared to 9.0%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in retail trade (11.8% compared to 8.1%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed in construction (12.6% compared to 17.3%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed in professional, scientific and technical services (4.6% compared to 6.2%)

The number of employed males in Green Valley decreased by 333 between 2016 and 2021.

The largest changes in the jobs held by the male resident population between 2016 and 2021 in Green Valley were for those employed in:
