Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Liverpool LGA in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (6,448 males or 13.5%)
  • Transport, Postal and Warehousing (5,530 males or 11.6%)
  • Manufacturing (5,070 males or 10.6%)

In combination, these three industries employed 17,048 males in total or 35.8% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Austral employed 17.3% in Construction; 12.4% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing; and 9.0% in Manufacturing.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Liverpool LGA and Austral were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in public administration and safety (7.5% compared to 4.6%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in manufacturing (10.6% compared to 9.0%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in accommodation and food services (4.5% compared to 3.0%)
