Dominant groups

Analysis of the need for assistance of people in Liverpool City Council compared to Sadleir shows that there was a lower proportion of people who reported needing assistance with core activities.

Overall, 6.5% of the population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 10.8% for Sadleir.

The major differences in the age groups reporting a need for assistance in Liverpool LGA and Sadleir were:

  • A larger percentage of persons aged 85 and over (52.4% compared to 36.7%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons aged 70 to 74 (22.1% compared to 32.6%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons aged 60 to 64 (12.4% compared to 20.9%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons aged 65 to 69 (17.1% compared to 22.4%)

Emerging groups

The major differences in the age groups reporting a need for assistance between 2011 and 2021 in Liverpool LGA were in the age groups:
