Dominant groups

In 2011, there were 17,260 people who caught public transport to work (train, bus, tram or ferry) in Georges River Council area, compared with 35,489 who drove in private vehicles (car – as driver, car – as passenger, motorbike, or truck).

Analysis of the method of travel to work of the residents in the Georges River Council area in 2011, compared to Greater Sydney, shows that 27.3% used public transport, while 56.1% used a private vehicle, compared with 20.0% and 60.0% respectively in Greater Sydney.

The major differences in persons between the method of travel to work of the Georges River Council area and Greater Sydney were:
