Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in St George Region in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (34,402 people or 27.5%)
  • Clerical and Administrative Workers (18,532 people or 14.8%)
  • Managers (16,390 people or 13.1%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 69,324 people in total or 55.4% of the employed resident population.

In comparison, Peakhurst employed 26.1% in Professionals; 17.5% in Clerical and Administrative Workers; and 14.4% in Managers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of St George Region and Peakhurst were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed as Labourers (8.1% compared to 5.7%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed as Professionals (27.5% compared to 26.1%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons employed as Clerical and Administrative Workers (14.8% compared to 17.5%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons employed as Technicians and Trades Workers (10.6% compared to 11.9%)
