Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Carlton in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Professionals (396 males or 24.0%)
- Technicians and Trades Workers (292 males or 17.7%)
- Managers (216 males or 13.1%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 904 males in total or 54.8% of the employed male resident population.
In comparison, South Hurstville employed 21.9% in Professionals; 18.7% in Technicians and Trades Workers; and 14.7% in Managers.
The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Carlton and South Hurstville were:
- A larger percentage of males employed as Professionals (24.0% compared to 21.9%)
- A larger percentage of males employed as Clerical and Administrative Workers (10.7% compared to 9.4%)
