Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in St George Region in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (7,591 males or 11.8%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (6,874 males or 10.7%)
  • Transport, Postal and Warehousing (5,972 males or 9.3%)

In combination, these three industries employed 20,437 males in total or 31.7% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Georges River Council area employed 10.8% in Construction; 10.9% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; and 8.8% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing.

There were no major differences between St George Region and Georges River Council area in 2021.

Emerging groups

The number of employed males in St George Region decreased by 365 between 2016 and 2021.

The largest changes in the jobs held by the male resident population between 2016 and 2021 in St George Region were for those employed in:
