Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Riverwood in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (242 females or 20.5%)
  • Retail Trade (162 females or 13.7%)
  • Education and Training (106 females or 9.0%)

In combination, these three industries employed 510 females in total or 43.2% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Carlton employed 24.1% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 11.6% in Retail Trade; and 9.1% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Riverwood and Carlton were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in retail trade (13.7% compared to 11.6%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in manufacturing (5.3% compared to 3.3%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (20.5% compared to 24.1%)
