Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in CAD West in 2011 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Accommodation and Food Services (217 people or 24.2%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (84 people or 9.3%)
  • Retail Trade (83 people or 9.2%)

In combination, these three industries employed 384 people in total or 42.8% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, the City of Adelaide employed 11.7% in Accommodation and Food Services; 15.1% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 8.7% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of CAD West and the City of Adelaide were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in accommodation and food services (24.2% compared to 11.7%)
