Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Shire of Mundaring in 2016 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,897 people or 10.9%)
  • Education and Training (1,754 people or 10.1%)
  • Construction (1,733 people or 10.0%)

In combination, these three industries employed 5,384 people in total or 30.9% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Greater Perth employed 12.3% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 8.8% in Education and Training; and 9.9% in Construction.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of the Shire of Mundaring and Greater Perth were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in public administration and safety (8.0% compared to 6.4%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed in education and training (10.1% compared to 8.8%)
