Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in the Shire of Mundaring in 2016 compared to Greater Perth shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a similar proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 34.2% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 9.7% were one-parent families, compared with 32.3% and 9.8% respectively for Greater Perth.

There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 18.8% compared to 21.7% in Greater Perth while the proportion of couples without children was 30.1% compared to 25.4% in Greater Perth.
