Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Outer Eastern region in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Mining (215 people or 11.0%)
  • Construction (195 people or 10.0%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (193 people or 9.9%)

In combination, these three industries employed 603 people in total or 30.9% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, the Shire of Mundaring employed 8.7% in Mining; 9.1% in Construction; and 11.5% in Health Care and Social Assistance.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Outer Eastern region and the Shire of Mundaring were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in mining (11.0% compared to 8.7%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (2.3% compared to 1.0%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons employed in health care and social assistance (9.9% compared to 11.5%)
