Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in Berwick (South) in 2016 compared to the City of Casey shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a similar proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 54.7% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 11.4% were one-parent families, compared with 45.1% and 11.8% respectively for the City of Casey.

There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 10.2% compared to 14.6% in the City of Casey while the proportion of couples without children was 18.7% compared to 20.9% in the City of Casey.
