Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Rural Balance in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (194 males or 22.4%)
  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (177 males or 20.4%)
  • Manufacturing (53 males or 6.1%)

In combination, these three industries employed 424 males in total or 49.0% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Bass Coast Shire employed 22.5% in Construction; 5.6% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; and 6.3% in Manufacturing.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Rural Balance and Bass Coast Shire were:
