Dominant groups

Analysis of individual income levels in Bass Coast Shire in 2016 compared to Regional VIC shows that there was a lower proportion of people earning a high income (those earning $1,750 per week or more) and a higher proportion of low income people (those earning less than $500 per week).

Overall, 5.2% of the population earned a high income, and 44.3% earned a low income, compared with 6.9% and 40.2% respectively for Regional VIC.

The major differences between Bass Coast Shire's individual incomes and Regional VIC's individual incomes were:
