Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Bass Coast Shire in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (1,995 females or 24.4%)
- Education and Training (1,026 females or 12.5%)
- Retail Trade (1,022 females or 12.5%)
In combination, these three industries employed 4,043 females in total or 49.4% of the total employed female resident population.
In comparison, Gippsland Region employed 26.0% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 13.2% in Education and Training; and 11.5% in Retail Trade.
The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Bass Coast Shire and Gippsland Region were:
- A larger percentage of females employed in arts and recreation services (3.8% compared to 1.7%)
- A smaller percentage of females employed in public administration and safety (4.5% compared to 6.8%)
