Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Wonthaggi District in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (403 males or 23.4%)
  • Retail Trade (215 males or 12.5%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (118 males or 6.8%)

In combination, these three industries employed 736 males in total or 42.7% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Phillip Island employed 23.1% in Construction; 7.8% in Retail Trade; and 4.4% in Health Care and Social Assistance.
